Hey we’ve all gott’em – that small handful of artists / musicians that hold a special place in our hearts.
A treasured memory of my youth – Merle Haggard has died today at the age of 79 years of age.
An outlaw…..a renegade and a hero – the music of Merle Haggard served as the back drop to my youth….always there, behind a myriad of fond memories of home.
Memories of family, memories of falling asleep on my dad’s shoulder listening….heartfelt songs that brought smiles and happiness to all of us – and all who knew us.
A tough day for fans of the legend. We wish him well.
Here’s one for ya that certainly strikes a chord in this ol silverback. Cheers Merle – thanks for all the great times.
I liked Merle Haggard too.. Snow blind friend.. Waylon and Willie.. Kris Kristofferson.. Johnny Cash.. Roy Orbison
the old days.
These guys are great. I grew up listening to all of them! Many a night asleep in the back seat of Mom ‘n Dads car on the way home from some shindig or another. Great music. Great memories. Great times.
