As you all know I have been actively following Canadian Marijuana companies….with thought in mind – this is very similar to the “good ‘ol days” when I got intrinsically involved with online gaming “prior” to the global phenomenon.
For kicks you all can go rent the movie “Runner Runner” starring Ben Afleck and Justin Timberlake for a very real account of my experience those 7 years in Costa Rica. The movie documents our company / story almost to a tee – right down to the alligators, “the ladies” and the lifestyle.
Wild times to say the least.
Now looking at my position in ACB ( Aurora Cannabis ) with potential merger on deck with Hemp Food and Fiber (HEMP) – both of which recently making nice pullbacks and looking to bottom here with stock trading “halted” here this morning….I can’t help but wonder…
Could I seriously hit this again? Is this the beginning of an essentially “brand new industry” and these stocks will never, never see levels anywhere close to this ever, ever again? No moss growing on ‘ol Kong eh? Eh? I’ve started a simple newsletter that is “pot specific” if you are at all interested. I’ll plan to mail out maybe once or twice a month as things progress.

Otherwise….cheapest short gold play I could find – I shorted McEwan Mining Co. (MUX) yesterday afternoon at 3.77, and it looks like the USD / EUR ? Gold call is hmmm…….bang on the money?
Get in here and comment / chat it up people. Some great stuff flying back and forth here during the day. My posts are just posts.
Looking at this from pure Demographics, the Baby Boomers being the largest group “alive” at the moment, seems like weed may be soaring to unreal highs and sustaining. With so many companies sprouting up literally overnight it’s getting difficult to sort the shake for the best shit. Still a gamble for us “drive-by” speculators. I’ll be watching though sifting out the seeds from the lumber
What I like about the charts from a purely technical angle is that……the “early speculators” and the initial “blast” has long since occurred, and the pullback “industry wide” now looks to have settled at an area of “actual support”
Look at WEED for example…the biggest player in Canada. I suggested months ago ( https://forexkong.com/2016/12/15/canopy-growth-corp-marijuana-soon-legal-in-canada/ ) I would be interested around 7.50. Not to shabby considering that chart / call was made mid December.
Hey Kong….took you up on the movie……yup quite the blast. Brings back memories of dealing with the Mexicans in 1980’s Houston. Wow….and I’m a geezer now wondering how the frig we did that. Did your conclusion in the Costa Rica scene remotely resemble the twist at the end of the movie?
Well back to reality…..just was curious on your take on CWB.V. Our friend over in Peru has some definite opinions. Whatya think of the streaming aspect in the Cannabis space?
Cheers Kong….still lovin’ your blog!
The ending – no.
Good ol Hollywood certainly took some liberties there.
I’m not familiar with this symbol / ticker Gray…can you give me a little more detail? CWB- which company?
Just noticed a typo Kong. Ticker is CBW. I know you’ll chuckle at this but the symbol is for Cannabis Wheaton. Stockhouse has been a treasure trove for the controversy’s occurring on these guys but the simple fact is the CEO founded Canopy and the streaming idea seems solid providing there will in fact be a shortage in product if the recreational users overwhelm the production of the current producers.
Of course….Cannabis Wheaton.
I like the model, and with Chuck there on the board of directors, there’s some real experience and knowledge built in.
Thumbs up on CBW. Some decent trade volume growing here too, and with the stock at a buck? I too will likely start building a position here.
Re MUX. ..Nice call.
I was wondering if this call was broadcasted to your members ? Considering joining …
Just re building members area to a far more technical platform.
Sit tight…..I’ll be done soon!
Hi Kong – Apologies for the lack of brevity. I’ve been reading your blog for a while, but after the recent amazing gold call I decided to get busy and read through your older posts, got through the first 175 or so over the weekend. I was hoping that you would explain to a Forex newb what the implications are of the charts I’m looking at over the last few days. It looks like the comm dolls are gaining strength against the USD & JPY and also the the USD is weakening against the JPY, /GC is headed up, TLT is going nuts, looks like “risk off” to me (to say the least). This “seems” to make sense as China’s yield curve is inverting (can’t be good and might be an explanation for the recent bitcoin run up), Janet will hike this afternoon, most of which is baked in at this point, but continues to flatten the US yield curve. All that said the world is so awash in currency that indexes shrug all this off and continue to hold steady or move higher. Would you share some of your thoughts, what correlations you’re watching these days and how you might play all this? Thanks!
